Overview

This safari will take you to Uganda’s largest park, Murchison Falls National Park, situated in the north west on an area of 3,840 sq km and created in 1926 as a game reserve. With savannah grasslands and the Victoria Nile that flows through separating it into two (the northern and the southern bank), Murchison Falls is a home to over 451 bird species including the great blue turaco, goliath heron, shoebill and dwarf kingfisher, 76 mammal species, and the magnificent and thunderous Murchison Falls squeezing its way through a gorge that is 8m wide. Explore this fantastic park on game drives and a boat cruise as well as visiting Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking on the way to Murchison Falls.

DAY 1

KAMPALA – ZIWA RHINO SANCTUARY – MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK

Our experienced driver/guide will pick you up from your hotel early in the morning and drive to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary where you have a great experience walking with the rhino. Then continue on the journey to Murchison Falls National Park. When we get to the park, have lunch and get ready for the afternoon game drive, looking out for animals such as giraffes, hippos, elephants and much more. After the game drive, we come back to the hotel for dinner and a briefing with the guide about the next day’s activities.

DAY 2

MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK – GAME DRIVES & BOAT CRUISES

Very early in the morning at around 4 am, we wake up and get ready for the ferry to take us for the morning game drive. Afterwards come back to the hotel for lunch followed by an afternoon boat cruise, where you will be able to see birds such as king fishers and many other beautiful species as well as animals like hippos and crocodiles plus many more. After the boat cruise, we shall come back to the hotel for dinner and a short briefing about the next day’s activities.

DAY 3

DRIVE BACK TO KAMPALA

Today we have two options, either to do a morning game drive or to drive back to Kampala straight after breakfast. Back in Kampala you’ll be dropped off at a hotel or the airport.
